Dame Helen Mirren 'sparks facelift rumours' as she's pictured wearing blue scarf around her face

Dame Helen Mirren, has admitted in the past that she understands why people might choose to go under the knife.

And it seems she may have gone down that route herself, as The Queen actress sparked rumours that she may have had a facelift after she was seen shopping in Hollywood wearing a blue scarf around her face.

Reports have claimed the 67-year-old was using the headscarf to 'cover up white bandages' as she picked up supplies from the Fresh and Easy grocery store.

A white wrap could clearly be seen under the sheer blue scarf.

Speaking to The People newspaper, Harley Street surgeon Dr Nick Milojovic said: It's the type of bandage that would be used after a classic facelift.

He continued: 'You can never be 100 per cent certain but it looks that way. Her face definitely looks puffy.'

The make-up free actress was spotted looking at items around the refrigeration aisle in the store.

Dressed down in a white cardigan and a patterned blue and white top, Helen tied her white hair back in and wore a pair of sunglasses on her head.

Hollywood leading lady, Helen Mirren, has managed to defy the rules of aging over the years, still managing to look youthful and glamorous after nearly 50 years in showbiz, but good nutrition and fortunate genes may not be the only contributor to the actress’ extremely graceful aging, according to noted cosmetic surgeon, Professor Laurence Kirwan.

Mirren, who turned heads in a red bikini in 2008, did so again during the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 13. Wearing a sleek Badgley Mischka gown with a simple hairdo and little jewelry, she remained the epitome of an ageless actress, to most people.

The Oscar-winning actress is known to shun Botox, letting her longtime beauty show through the wrinkles of age. Mirren has said she‘s had no cosmetic surgery, relying instead upon common sense, including moderate exercise and avoiding smoking and drinking.

However, Kirwan said the sunglasses and the facial appearance they failed to hide suggest to the trained eye that she has had a facelift and possibly other cosmetic surgery.
